UETR signs cooperation agreement with NORMAPME

14 February 2012 – UETR has signed a cooperation agreement with NORMAPME, the European Office of Crafts, Trades and Small and Medium sized Enterprises for Standardisation created in 1996 with the support of the European Commission and  devoted to the interests of SMEs in the European standardisation system.

NORMAPME is an associated member of CEN and CENELEC, a full member of ETSI and a liaison member of ISO, dedicated to promoting the “Think Small First” principle in the European and International Standardisation Bodies.

Standardization of rules is of paramount importance for the functioning of the EU internal market, ensuring fair competition and better working environment. Small haulers are often not sufficiently represented in the standardisation process and standards are frequently found not adapted to their needs. Both UETR and NORMAPME have noted the opportunity of structuring and strengthening their relationship and fostering a closer cooperation with the mutual objective to influence standardisation with the aim of promoting SMEs interests with regards to the road transport sector” said UETR President Francesco Del Boca.
