31 May 2012 – UETR Press Release on vote of the Transport and Tourism Committee of the European Parliament on the review of tachograph legislation.
EP vote on the review of tachograph legislation: mixed feelings.
The European Road Haulers Associations welcomes certain new rules approved today by Transport and Tourism Committee of the European Parliament, backing the text drafted by rapporteur Mrs. Silvia-Adriana Ţicău on the amendment of Council Regulation (EEC) No 3821/85 on recording equipment in road transport and Regulation (EC) No 561/2006. Such measures will improve the current legislative framework to prevent fraud and employ new technologies. However, UETR does not understand the vote’s outcome on working time and undertaking’s liability.
