UETR involvement in the TRACE policy leads event

27 March 2012 – The TRACE policy leads event took place today. UETR has been involved in the project from the beginning.

The purpose of the project is to develop a training package that can be used in the different Member States, using defined approaches and the common explanations on driving and rest times. The aim of this training package and approach is to lead to the harmonisation of application by control officers. During the TRACE policy leads event, the project was presented to representatives of the different Member States in the presence of the European Commission.

UETR gave a presentation together with IRU, to outline the trade involvement as Members of the advisory board and to underline the support of the project by the industry.

The pilot-projects with training courses will be started in April and May. Four training events will take place, spread over the EU (UK, ES, DE, BE) to give all Member States representatives the possibility to attend.
