06 Dec UETR intervenes at EP on mobile workers
UETR intervened on the 16 th of October in the joint EMPL-TRAN Hearing on “Working conditions of mobile workers in transport”.
On behalf of the organization, Mrs. Evy Van Der Paelt welcomed the importance of ensuring social protection, the definition of posting and clear rules for counting days.
More specifically, it stressed the need for more clarity on the concept of transit and daily allowances, a robust and harmonized method to identify the elements of the minimum wage.
No administrative burden for SMEs must be created and uncertainty for drivers must be avoided.
UETR supports the introduction of one single registration platform and the possibility to upload documents electronically instead of keeping them in the cabins in hard copies.
