UETR general assembly in Paris

27 May 2011 – UETR General Assembly and Management Board took place today in Paris hosted by its French Member Unostra at AFT-IFTIM premises (the French national Institute of Vocational Training in Transport and Logistics).
Mr. Roland Bacou, new Unostra President (Goods transport section) gave a welcome speech together with the representative of AFT IFTIM Mr. P. Loubière.
The event saw the participation of the recently appointed Deputy Director at DGITM (Directorate General Infrastructure, Transport and See of the French Ministry of Transport) Mr. Loïc Charbonnier, who gave a speech on the most important issues in European transport sector for France. Afterwards, UETR submitted him its official statement “Les problèmes actuels du transport routier dans l’UE.”
Mr. Michel Hirou of the Comité National Routier (CNR) also intervened in the meeting.
Among the most important topics discussed: the White Paper on Transport, the new EC proposal of a “European Carbon Tax” (revision of the Energy Taxation Directive), Eurovignette III , cabotage,  acces to profession, vocational training projects  in road transport.
“I express my appreciation for the participation of such important representatives of the road transport sector and Government of France, Collaboration is one of the main pillars of UETR, not only with professional organizations but also with national authorities.” said UETR President Francesco Del Boca.
