11 May Toll system – automated portals in Hungary
NÚSZ (National Toll Payment provider in Hungary) has recently installed automated portals on 13 new locations across the country for checking the payment of road tolls. According to NÚSZ these new portals register a significant amount of unauthorized road usage of vehicles over 3,5T every day. (For example, close to the Romanian border at “Csanádpalota” on the M43.)
The usage of Tolled roads in Hungary can only be after the purchase of a ticket, or in case of using an On-Board Unit the account must be filled up sufficiently prior to the road usage. The webpage is available in 16 languages, and contains all the necessary information on purchasing tickets, and registration.
