Night driving ban for Euro V engines in Austria from 2012

24 October 2011 – Tyrol’s Authorities deferred to the 31 October 2012 the extension of night driving ban for vehicles with gross weight over 7.5 tones equipped with Euro V engines (which are now exempted). The Euro VI vehicles will be allowed to circulate until 2015.

According to the original program, the entry into force of the ban on the A12 motorway Kufstein-Innsbruck-Zirl for Euro V engines was scheduled for the 1 November 2011. The extension of the night driving for Euro V vehicles is established by Regulation 94 (10 October 2011).

The decision confirms the derogation for all trucks equipped with Euro VI engines until the 31 December 2015. To facilitate and ensure proper checks, all vehicles exempted from the prohibition must have the appropriate certificate on emission standards in the cabin.
