28 January 2013 – New driving licence in the EU
Under the 3rd EU Driving Licence Directive, all new driving licences issued across the European Union will be like a plastic credit card, with a standard European format and tougher security protection. The provisions will apply from 19 January 2013.
Such single document will replace the huge number of different paper and plastic models currently in use in EU Member States.
