18 May European Commission’s Consultation for safe and secure parking places for trucks
15 March 2012 – The European Commission launched today a public consultation on the provision of information and reservation services for safe and secure parking places for trucks and commercial vehicles under the ITS Directive 2010/40/EU.
The European Commission aims to develop and expand the Intelligent Transport Systems, the EU project that applies information and communication technologies to transport sector, in order to solve problems related to all the means of transport – both for passengers and freights – making the whole sector more sustainable.
The questionnaire, which aims to gather information concerning the distribution, availability and quality of parking places for trucks and commercial vehicles, will provide inputs for the development of specifications on information and reservation services for such areas.
The deadline to reply to the consultation has been scheduled for 8th June 2012.
