Brexit: Council-EP agreement on road connectivity

The Council and Parliament have reached an agreement on 26 February on basic road connectivity between UK and the EU.

A set of temporary and limited measures (until 31 December 2019) will ensure basic road freight connectivity in order to mitigate the most severe disruption.

“We welcome this agreement and thank policy makers for showing great support and engagement on this sensitive issue – our haulers will have to be put in the condition to operate in UK and vice versa to the benefit of goods exchange as a whole” said UETR Secretary General Marco Digioia.

Last Friday 1 March the Coreper (Member States’ ambassadors) approved this agreement, to be now formally approved by the Council and the Parliament.
