Ban for rest in cabin in Italy

Ban for rest in cabin in Italy

Italy has introduced on 30 April the ban on spending regular rest of 45 hrs in the cabin (while it is possible to do this in the case of daily rest and short weekly rest), in line with the recent ruling of the EU Court of Justice.

With the new rules, a fine from 425 to 1,701 euros for infringements can be issued and driving documents disqualification and no possibility to resume the journey until the prescribed rest is completed in the correct manner.
