7th PRAISE Report – Tackling fatigue: EU social rules and heavy goods vehicle drivers

7 November 2011 – The European Transport Security Council (ETSC) has published the 7th PRAISE Report titled “Tackling Fatigue: EU Social Rules and Heavy Goods Vehicle Drivers” in the framework of PRAISE project

As the title suggests, the latest report focuses on one of the major causes of accidents in road transport sector: fatigue. It analyzes the reasons behind the problem and tries to propose appropriate solutions, in order to improve the overall level of road safety.

“UETR was pleased to contribute to ETSC report: our employers are making efforts in road safety and health at work, in many cases at their own expenses. Enhanced employee relations is well known to smaller haulers. Integration of social and economic considerations into processes of business has always been one of the main objectives of UETR’s mission. We hope that such “Safety Culture” will be spread all over the supply chain” said Secretary General Marco Digioia.
