UETR welcomes the winners of the ESPORG Truck Parking Award 2026

UETR, as part of the Jury together with other public and private stakeholders, congratulates Bapaume Truck House A1 | Secure Truck Parking, winner of the prestigious Truck Parking Award 2026. The purpose of the award is to promote excellence, spread best practices, and improve safety, security, sustainability, and quality of services for professional truck drivers across Europe, while enhancing the attractiveness of the driver profession to a diverse audience, including young people and women. Truck Etape Béziers, again in France, was unanimously selected as the winner of both the Green Truck Parking Management Award 2026 and the newly established ESPORG Home Away from Home Award. On the same day, UETR Secretary General Marco Digioia took part in a panel discussion at the European Conference on Energy Transition in Brussels, organised by ESPORG, stressing that the energy transition in road transport depends on accessible infrastructure. Safe and secure parking areas should evolve into energy hubs that support alternative fuels, electric charging, and future transport services. For operators, predictability, affordability, and interoperability are critical.

The Green Parking Standard and certification process help by providing clear standards that guide planning and investment. Key priorities include expanding charging and alternative fuel infrastructure, establishing supportive financial and regulatory frameworks, and ensuring that implementation reflects drivers’ real-world needs.

Overall, the transition must be practical and economically viable, supported by targeted assistance for companies and collaboration across the supply chain.
